The SemperGreenwall improves air quality by filtering fine dust and CO₂ while producing oxygen.
At Raiffeisen Bank in Nußdorf am Attersee, the entrance is more than just a doorway, it’s a living welcome. A SemperGreenwall Outdoor now adorns the façade, creating a modern, accessible, and refreshing space that reflects the bank’s care for both people and planet.

The planting mix is tailored to Austria’s continental climate and remains lush through all seasons.
A green entrance that feels open, calm and welcoming to every visitor.
When Raiffeisen Bank set out to modernise its Nußdorf branch, the goal was more than aesthetic renewal. Guided by its ESG vision, the bank wanted to express its environmental and social responsibility in the very fabric of the building. The result is a 46 m² SemperGreenwall Outdoor: a vibrant green façade that welcomes every visitor with a sense of freshness and care. Installed by Sempergreen in collaboration with Schmeikal Hydrokulturen & Decoservice, the living wall softens the architecture, cools the surroundings and actively purifies the air. For a bank that places “responsibility” at the core of its culture, it’s a tangible statement: sustainability can be both visible and valuable.
Raiffeisen Bank International was the first Austrian bank to sign the UN Principles for Responsible Banking. Across all its branches in Central and Eastern Europe, sustainability is seen not as an add-on, but as a cultural foundation. Its ESG management focuses on four main areas: economy, ecology, human resources and social commitment. Every initiative aims to create long-term value; for customers, employees and society. By choosing a SemperGreenwall, the bank translates this philosophy into a real, visible act of ecological responsibility.
Installed in October 2019, the SemperGreenwall covers 46 m² of the building’s sun-facing façade. The wall was pre-grown with a carefully selected mix of outdoor plants, cultivated in Sempergreen’s nurseries to thrive in the Austrian climate. The vegetation naturally regulates temperature, reduces noise and filters pollutants, turning the building into a quiet, cleaner and cooler oasis within the village centre.
Biophilic design plays a crucial role in the renovation. The greenery improves air quality, reduces heat and creates a more pleasant indoor climate for both staff and visitors. Customers entering the branch are greeted not by cold glass and steel, but by a soft, living wall. It is a sign that banking can be warm, human and connected to nature. Studies show that greenery in public buildings lowers stress and encourages longer, more positive interactions; a benefit that fits perfectly with Raiffeisen’s focus on barrier-free, people-centred service.
The green façade at Raiffeisen Bank in Nußdorf am Attersee stands as more than a design feature. It’s a daily reminder that sustainability can be integrated into every aspect of modern business. As Raiffeisen Bank continues to support ESG-driven innovation across Europe, the SemperGreenwall adds a human, biophilic dimension to their mission: helping both people and nature thrive, side by side.
