Hotel Indigo is a striking landmark in Wan Chai, where rich heritage meets contemporary architecture. With two SemperGreenwalls Outdoor, the 29-storey tower has gained a distinctive, natural expression. Thanks to the lightweight, flexible Flexipanels, even the curved stair façade could be greened with ease.
The result is a soft, organic contrast to the shimmering “golden dragon” exterior, giving the hotel a warm and welcoming presence that reflects its innovative identity.
The living walls have been designed as a vibrant mosaic. By combining colour, texture and leaf shapes, a rhythmic pattern emerges that adds depth and movement to the curved wall. The plants respond to seasons and light, giving the façade a dynamic, ever-changing character. This visual play aligns beautifully with the hotel’s shimmering “golden dragon” exterior, turning the living wall into a defining element of Hotel Indigo’s identity.
For today’s travellers, sustainability increasingly influences their choice of accommodation. The green walls visibly contribute to an eco-conscious stay: they improve air quality, reduce heat stress and support biodiversity in a compact urban district. Guests experience this as both pleasant and meaningful. The hotel offers a sustainable option without compromising comfort or design; exactly what modern travellers are looking for.
The living walls strengthen the hotel’s sustainable architectural concept. The golden glass exterior, inspired by dragon scales, reflects sunlight and reduces heat entering the rooms. The SemperGreenwalls enhance this effect by moderating temperature peaks along the façade. Together, the architectural design and vegetation contribute to improved indoor comfort and lower energy use.
With 138 rooms, a spectacular glass-bottom infinity pool and panoramic views, Hotel Indigo is designed to impress. The addition of two SemperGreenwalls completes this vision: a hotel where modern design and natural elements elevate one another. The green façades make the building not only more beautiful, but also more meaningful: a place where guests feel welcomed, inspired and connected.
