In the beginning of 2000 we formed SGRI (Scandinavian Green Roof Institute). The institute's main activities involve; accommodating technical visits, hosting seminars/courses, facilitating research and providing consultation & network support to members of SGIA.

The Institute is located at the Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden

The Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden is a place for inspiration, education and research. The garden consist of 9500 m² vegetated roofs of various types and is accessible for visitors all year round. The Scandinavian Green Roof Institute offers guided tours, and for groups who crave more in-depth information; Technical-Visits and courses at Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden.

Every year the garden is visited by between 130 - 150 booked groups. The Augustenborg Botanical Roof Garden was created in 1999 with support from the EU-LIFE fund, the Swedish Ministry of the Environment and the City of Malmö.
