A diverse planting plan attracts pollinators, birds and native insects. This turns the roof into a thriving ecosystem.
A Stunning Green Roof Transformation in the beautiful coastal town of Mount Maunganui, private homeowners transformed their plain, grey garage roof into a lush green retreat. Originally designed with reinforced structure over a decade ago, the roof was given a vibrant makeover with Click ‘n Go Sedumtrays by Sempergreen New Zealand.
After seeing sample trays during a consultation, the homeowners immediately chose the Click ‘n Go Sedumtrays as their ideal solution. The design included a 250mm pebble margin for containment and aesthetics. To maintain the greenery, an automatic spray irrigation system was installed, using an on-site bore pump for unlimited water supply.
The plant selection was tailored to their preferences, ensuring a mix of Sedum species that offered vibrant yet harmonious tones, avoiding bright yellows as requested.
